I'm a researcher specializing in quantitative analysis of digital behavior change interventions (e.g., eHealth, mHealth).
One of my main interests involves how psychological characteristics like depression may negatively influence how users engage with digital interventions, and how we can address this.

Fluctuations in mHealth engagement following receipt of goal-discrepant feedback messages
TL;DR - sending messages stating that participants have failed or have not yet met their goals seems to reduce their likelihood of reading the next message they receive
Motivated information avoidance in an mHealth weight loss intervention
TL;DR - the greater the number of goals a participant has not met at the time of message receipt, the less likely they are to read any messages sent. This was exacerbated by depresison symptoms
Personal goal setting eHealth component associated with improved 6-month outcomes
TL;DR - An eHealth weight loss intervention had an optional component where participants could write 0-3 personal goals for themselves each week. Even though it was not graded, higher use was associated with better outcomes
